The short version
We don't ask you to create an account, and the hero combos you select are never sent to us — they stay in your browser. We do use advertising and analytics cookies, and we store your email address only if you choose to subscribe to update alerts.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site displays ads served by Google AdSense to cover hosting costs. To do that:
- Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, may show ads on this site using their own cookies.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you will be shown a consent message before personalised ads are served, and you can change your choice at any time.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful (for example, which hero pages get read). It records things like page views, approximate location and device type. It does not identify you personally to us.
The contact form
When you send us a message, we receive your name, email address, the message itself, and your IP address (used only for spam protection). It's emailed to admin@roccombofinder.com and used solely to reply to you. It is never sold or shared.
Update alerts (email)
If you subscribe to ranking update alerts, we store your email address, the date you subscribed and your IP address. We use double opt-in — you must confirm via a link before we ever email you. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you immediately. We never sell or share the list.
Your hero selection
The heroes you tick in the combo generator are matched against the rankings entirely inside your browser. Simply using the tool sends nothing to our server, and there is no account to create.
There is one exception, and it only happens if you ask for it. If you press Copy share link, that list of heroes is saved on our server — it has to be, because that is what the short link points at. What we store is the hero list and nothing else: no name, no email, no IP address, nothing that identifies you. The link is unlisted rather than secret: anyone holding it can open it, so don't treat it as private.
Local storage
Two small items are saved in your own browser's local storage. They stay on your device, are never transmitted to us, and contain no personal data:
- Your hero roster. So that when you come back, the heroes you selected are still selected and you don't have to pick them all again. You can wipe it at any time with the "Start fresh" button on the generator, or by clearing your browser data.
- An update-alerts flag recording whether you've already dismissed or accepted the subscribe prompt, so we don't keep asking.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. Email admin@roccombofinder.com and we'll action it.
